Hi there:
By now you have both seen the frenzy that your mom and I go through each school year around this time. New clothes, new supplies, new books, new friends...and we've done this our entire lives (this will be my 37th straight opening of school...what joy!).
I hope that you have watched us and seen the joy we get from our work, specifically from the people we work with. I pray for both of you that you will find careers that satisfy you as fully as teaching has fulfilled your mom and me. Find something where people are the most important part. Find something that is always changing, that is dynamic, that keeps you interested and focused. Find something that you can share with your family and work at as a team. I would never have thought all of that was possible. When I dream about the best possible life, it isn't long before I realize that I'm already living it.
Of course, you both are a significant part of that. You are entering an important year for both of you; the last year at your respective schools. You are at the peak of your current mountains, looking on toward the next summit to be climbed. I love watching you climb; you have both proven to be adept and agile and charitable climbers of lifes mountains.
Know that Jesus climbs with you. He certainly has accompanied me, even--perhaps especially--when I wasn't aware of Him or even looking for him. Keep your eyes open and upon Him.
I love you.
