Obeying is hard, isn't it? I've long been a proponent of the "train-'em-early" school of parenting in the hope that as time passed, I'd have less to worry about in this area. For the most part, I've been right...the two of you have been spectacular kids, growing up in Christ Jesus and working to be his followers. And I love you for that, among many other things that make you who you are.
But here we are on the eve of 13 years old and 10 years old, and your dad is sensing more of a challenge in the offing. Adolescence being what it is (I am something of an expert considering my life's work has been the observation, training and correcting of said-aged people) I understand that you may be a bit slow to understand my directives, as long as you're not long to understand how much I love you and that what I ask of you, I do so for your benefit. Trust me...I've been here before!
